Kyokurei Oiran is not merely a kimono-dressing or photography service. It is a special experience designed to help you discover your “true beauty”—the kind you may not even realize you possess.
As your producer, Haruna Abe, I have worked as a communication consultant, using the power of “words” to bring out the charm of numerous companies and individuals.
I have also represented Japan in international beauty pageants, where I deeply explored the question, “What is beauty?”
I’ve come to realize that true beauty isn’t just about adorning one’s outward appearance; it shines only when the thoughts, history, and inner resolve—specifically, the will to “be who you want to be”—take shape.
Osamu Inabe

“A single photograph captures a person’s entire life.”
Photographer Osamu Inabe is from Tome City, Miyagi Prefecture. After graduating from Tokyo School of Photography (now Tokyo Visual Arts), he honed his skills at Kaburagi Studio and various photography agencies in Tokyo before establishing his own photography studio in his hometown of Tohoku in 2004.
Having worked in the world of commercial photography—including advertisements, catalogs, and posters—for over 20 years, Inabe has always made “delivering the image the client requests” his top priority.
There is only one reason he insists on “exclusive use of the studio”: to ensure that everything—from the angle of the light to the atmosphere of the space—is perfectly tailored for that specific client on that specific day.
Through the Great East Japan Earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic—overcoming countless hardships while continuing to shoot in Sendai—Inabe will capture your once-in-a-lifetime moment in the perfect photograph.
HAIR AND MAKEUP ARTIST Shinobu Ishikawa
Born in 1973 in Oshu City, Iwate Prefecture. Graduated from Iwate Beauty and Barbering College (1993). She brings out the inner beauty of women through traditional “jigeyui” hairstyling techniques and delicate makeup tailored to each individual’s facial structure. A hair and makeup artist well-versed in traditional Japanese hairstyling using one’s own hair.
Many modern oiran experiences use heavy, pre-styled “wigs.”
However, at KYOKUREI OIRAN, we are committed to the authentic style of the Edo period and employ “jige-yui” (styling with the client’s own hair), in which each strand of the client’s hair is meticulously styled one by one.
Ishikawa, who is in charge of hair and makeup, is an artisan who carries on this delicate traditional technique into the modern era. The client’s hair texture, facial structure, and facial features—
she senses each person’s unique individuality with her fingertips and styles the hair with an exquisite balance that brings out their most beautiful appearance.
The lustrous shine unique to natural hair, the beauty of a natural hairline, and the lightness on the head—these are qualities that a wig can never achieve.
Ishikawa’s meticulous craftsmanship and pursuit of beauty will revive the Edo-era aesthetic sensibility that lies dormant within you.
